Soda Fired Flask with Ash Glaze Drips

Soda Fired Flask with Ash Glaze Drips

This is a thrown and altered flask in white stoneware that’s been fired in a wood-fueled soda kiln. The top is glazed in a runny ash glaze that has dripped down the sides of the altered form. The flask has been hit with a heavy dose of soda ash in the kiln. there is some light salmon peach flashing that contrasts nicely with the gray tones of the heavy soda application.
